Based in Te Awamutu, we are centrally located in the mighty Waikato with city and country lifestyle opportunities, great schooling and a choice of great communities literally on our doorstep.   


We are currently looking for a Customer Connections Designer to join the team.  Reporting to the Projects Planning Manager this role will ensure consistent output of engineering design deliverables related to new customer connections, ranging from individual connections to large subdivisions.  


A high level of attention to detail is key as you will also ensure compliance with safety protocols, design standards, and environmental and operational legislation, regulations and practices.


The successful candidates will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Line mechanic/Electrician/Diploma qualifications or equivalent.
  • 5 years of electricity distribution industry experience. 
  • Sound knowledge of engineering standards, regulations and procedures within a distribution network environment.
  • Cost estimation skills. 
  • Experience using GIS, CAD, CATAN line design software and MS Office.
  • Line design skills and experience to NZS7000.
  • Good communications and people skills.
  • Strong relationship development skills, customer service orientation and a self-motivated, team player.
  • A capacity to learn
