Electricity Supply Engineering Opportunities

Take the next step in your career with Waipa Networks…

Based in Te Awamutu, Waipa Networks supplies 27,800 customers across a growing network with some pretty exciting projects and challenges to keep our professional engineering team interested, sometimes tested and always focused on developing their skills and growing with us.

To support the growth in the region we have a new opportunity for an Asset Strategy Engineer to join our professional and diverse team.  This is a team which is big enough to specialise but also small enough that you will know what’s going on across the network and with your colleagues work programmes.  Helping each other out is part of our DNA!

What we’re really interested in understanding are your engineering skills and what you want to achieve…because if you’re into electricity and want to work in a business that’s focused on network growth and growing your skills, then we’re up for the conversation.

The not negotiables for us are great communication, customer focus (which includes the internal team), continuous improvement and getting the job done.  The not negotiables we offer you are a great work environment along with remuneration that reflects not only your skills but the value you add to our business.

What we need from you is at least five years of relevant experience in distribution, transmission, contracting or consulting environment. You will have the ability to understand and interpret asset management plan and databases to extract relevant asset information and develop improved processes and systems. It goes without saying that you are confident in network performance and reliability plans, network standards and regulatory disclosures and overall experience is asset maintenance and asset strategy policies.

We’re also undertaking a GXP Upgrade in Cambridge and across the business there is a significant technology upgrade project so you can expect some involvement in this along with the opportunity to continue to develop your ICT skills.

If you’re into the detail (and let’s face it, you’re an engineer so why wouldn’t you be?) then take a look at the attached position description, and if you're still interested, click Apply today!
