Salary: Negotiable
Location: Te Awamutu
Duration: Permanent - Full Time
Start Date: ASAP

Waipa Networks owns and operates the electricity network that delivers power to Cambridge, Te Awamutu and the surrounding countryside.  Our peak demand is increasing every year with our domestic and industrial client base and we're expecting this to continue because we live and work in great location.

Our network engineering team are custodians of our asset information and geo spatial systems, and we’re currently on a technological journey that means your work will be part of a business transformation as we move to the latest in easy access, accurate digital solutions. As you can imagine, a growing business means more work to be done.

Joining our team means you’ll be involved in:

·       Providing asset information and geospatial technical expertise

·       Creating and maintaining network and operational drawings including network asset records

·       Undertaking asset information audits

·       Developing network information standards and policies

·       CAD drafting and engineering support

·       Contributing in the implementation of new technologies and asset management tools

To get the job done you’ll have experience in electrical asset information and records and so much the better if you have a tertiary qualification to support your experience.

Needless to say, you’ll know your way around engineering drawings and data and will have developed the almost supernatural power of extracting relevant asset information and deciphering engineering scribbles and notes.  You’ll be able to list AUTOCAD, SQL and other databases as skills you’ve mastered and your technology knowledge will be evidenced by the work and systems you’ve used.

But because it’s not all about what you’ve done, it’s also about who you are, the things you need to know that are important to us are your focus on customer delivery (internal and external), your strong communications skills and your ability to work hard and support your team.

So why work with us?

We’re fun, we’re focused and we’re determined to make our network the best EDB in New Zealand.  This is not a challenge we take on lightly and we know we need talented and smart people to help us get there.  We are a business that has history in the electricity industry spanning back to 1919 with the establishment of the first Electric Power Board in New Zealand and we have a proud tradition of top performance to live up to….we’re good but we want to be the best.

There has never been a better time to light up your career and join a team that is so progressive and waiting for you to be onboard. Apply now!
